Stampin Up Painted Harvest Card

I think this is my favourite stamp set of the catalogue. In this card I go for the sunflower look but have also done it in other colours too and it seems to look stunning in what ever combination I try.

In this video I have tried to line the two flower sections up but actually I am not sure it really matters. I have also since making this card read that some people stamp each twice and rotate the flower for the second imprint. I have tried this and it looks good too. I think its just a matter of having a go and basically they all look good and each flower will be unique.

I used a basic card bland in Early Expresso to match the centre of the flower - this is A4 cut in half and scored in half (standard American card stock would follow the same principle you just need to adjust the size for the mats accordingly)

2 Mats in Whisper White one for the from and one for the front.

3 inks - Peekaboo Peach, Tranquil Tide and Early Expresso.

Painted harvest stamp set and co-ordinating Leaf Punch.

Pretty Label Punch

Linen Thread
When stamped it is supposed to look like this! Its a water colour look.

When the second stamp is stamped over the top the flower really comes to life.  The effect reminds me of the Tulip set in that it has depth and dimension yet no stamping off required.

Centres do not need to be perfect, this is not a photograph its a water colour look.

Edges sponged as I think that makes it stand out more and adds to the water colour effect.
Sentiment stamped and cut out using Early Expresso and the Pretty Label Punch .  I think this punch works really well with this sentiment, I like the way the curve of the 't' mirrors the curve of the punch.

This was sponged in Peekaboo Peach to match.

This is also 2 step tamping - the skeleton of the leaf was stamped in  the first generation of ink, the second stamp of the whole leaf was stamped off first as I liked the slightly lighter look but you can do what ever you like.

Leaf is then lined up with the punch and punched out. I love co-ordinating stamps and punches.

I like to lay things down before I stick anything to see what they look like, that way I can change things around if necessary.

Leaves are stuck directly to card stock.

Linen Thread is wound round 3 times and dimensionals are added to give the card some 'pop'.

For added security the thread is secured by some strong tape.  You don't want it to unravel!

Sentiment was also popped up on dimensionals.

Finally the inside of the card was stamped. The sentiment was in full strength Early Expresso and the flower was stamped off first so it was more subtle. I think it looks better that way for the inside.  I also like to stamp a matching envelop too in this way.
The final result!

I made the card again for a Pootles team card swap but change the colours.  Here I used Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugar Plum for the flower and Peekaboo Peach for the centre of the flower, the leaves are in Emerald Envy.
